No — that is the design constraint we build around. The adhesive holds hard against daily pulls, and comes off clean with slow peeling and a little warmth from a hairdryer. Wipe the surface with alcohol before installing and give it 24 hours to cure before the first tug.
Most families install them when the child starts pulling to stand — around 8–10 months — and remove them somewhere past age three, when explanation starts working better than hardware. Every child writes their own schedule; the locks come off without a trace whenever yours is ready.
They fit standard round door knobs. Lever handles need a lever lock instead — we make those too, and each product page states which handle type it covers.
The bag breaks down in a backyard compost pile, not only in an industrial facility. Our plant-based lines are made for exactly that. If your city collects organics curbside, check its rules — some programs accept certified bags, some insist on loose scraps.
Thin ones are, which is why ours are not thin. We cut the material extra thick so the bag survives a full sandwich, a wet scoop or an enthusiastic dog, and we would rather you judge that on the first roll than take our word for it.
